PDO Thread Lift

As we all know by now, PDO threads have been all the rage this last year. Many still wonder what exactly are PDO threads and what is a PDO Thread Lift procedure? A PDO thread procedure is a type of non-surgical cosmetic treatment that aids in prevention of aging and helps reverse the visible signs of aging. PDO stands for polydioxanone, which is a common chemical that has been used in the surgical setting for many years now. A PDO Thread Lift procedure is a non-surgical, minimally invasive treatment in which a cannula (with a surgical string/”thread” material attached to it) is inserted underneath the skin on the face to help reposition drooping/sagging tissue and lift it back up to where it once use to be 10-15 years ago. The thread essentially tightens and contours the shape of the face, and lifting the skin in targeted areas.

LONGEVITY:

The thread will be absorbed by the body in 6 months, but the actual results of the procedure last 12 to 15 months. Another amazing effect of these threads are that they also cause our body to stimulate collagen (which our body doesn’t do as often with advancing age).

Some common areas for thread lifts are an eyebrow lift, a cheek lift, and jawline tightening. A PDO Thread Lift procedure is for mild to moderate facial aging and sagging. It is not for severe facial aging and sagging which would require an actual face-lift surgery.

PDO THREAD QUALITY:

If you have been thinking about getting a PDO Thread Lift, it is imperative to understand that not all PDO thread brands are created equal, not even close to equal. When Align wanted to get into doing PDO threads, it was important that we would be working only with high quality threads. Many PDO thread brands tend to be made in China, made cheap and will cause issues such as the threads poking out, not holding up, or snapping. Align researched PDO thread brands for an entire year before deciding on a thread brand we would be working with. After all the research it was decided that Align would be using the PDO Max Thread brand. Not only are they high-quality threads, but they are also made in America further ensuring high quality. These threads don’t snap and break like many of the other PDO thread brands out on the market. And our patients have gotten amazing results with the PDO Max threads. We couldn’t be happier with the brand of threads we decided to go with.
